SOUTH ASIA'S FIRST FEMALE GANTRY CRANE OPERATOR PASSED OUT FROM SRI LANKA PORTS AUTHORITY

First female group of gantry crane operators from South Asia who were trained in the Mahapola Ports and Maritime Academy of Sri Lanka Ports Authority passed out today on 08th of March 2017. This passing out ceremony was held in the Mahapola Ports and Maritime Academy to mark the International women’s Day and it was headed by the Hon. Minister of Ports and Shipping Arjuna Ranathunga. Hon. Deputy Minister of Ports and Shipping Nishantha Mutuhettigama , Secretary of the Ministry of Ports and Shipping Mr. L.P. Jayampathy, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Mr. Dammika Ranathunga, Chairman of the world maritime university Mrs. Cleopatra and several other distinguished guests took part in this event.
