Steps would be taken for the infrastructure developments in the Colombo Port while improving the efficiency, Mr. Dammika Ranathunga said.

“Colombo Port has ranked to the 23rd position according to the “Alpaliner” standardization report issued on February 2017. It is a remarkable achievement. Leading factor which paved the way to this victory is the commitment of the port employees. Successful operations in the all three terminals, Infrastructure developments and enhancing the efficiency of the Computer system are the other factors which led to this achievement. This method has developed the efficiency of the Colombo Port to a higher level. Now Colombo Port is going forward as a one institution despite the government or the private sector. Port of Colombo has been engaged in businesses with the external world as a one team, one institution. We are enhancing businesses. I believe that through these kinds of developments we would be able to initiate operations in the Eastern terminal shortly and we would be achieving many more goals.............” Chairman of the SLPA Mr. Dammika Ranathunga said.
