A special delegation from Chittagong Ports Authority visits the Port of Colombo

A special  delegation from Chittagong Ports Authority visits the Port of Colombo

Plaque exchanges between Mr.Dammika Ranatunga – the Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) and Mr.Md. Mashiur Rahman Beg – Deputy (Traffic) Manager from the Chittagong Ports Authority of Bangladesh.

 

A special delegation including Mr.Md. Mashiur Rahman Beg – Deputy (Traffic) Manager from the Chittagong Ports Authority of Bangladesh visited Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) on 03rd April 2017. The delegation also included officials of the Ministry of shipping of Bangladesh.

During the visit the delegation attended discussions with Mr.Dammika Ranatunga – the Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) to discuss matters pertaining to mutual goodwill and maritime exchanges between the two ports. Following the discussions a special plaque exchange took place between Mr.Dammika Ranatunga – the Chairman of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) and Mr.Md. Mashiur Rahman Beg – Deputy (Traffic) Manager of the Chittagong Ports Authority to mark the delegation’s visit at the Port of Colombo.

The Bangladeshi delegation also made a special observation tour at the Colombo Port premises. The tour included a visit to the Break water, the new Pilot station, the Jaya Container Terminal (JCT) and the Mahapola Port and Maritime Academy.

Higher Management Officials of Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) including, the Managing Director - Mr.H.D.A.S.Premachandra , Additional Managing Director – J.K.P.Kurukulasooriya, Executive Director – Mr.Sanjaya Wijeratne, Harbour Master – Capt.Athula Hewawitharana and the Chief Manager (Marketing & Business Development and Communication & Public Relations) Mr.Upul Jayatissa also attended to receive the delegation.
