Sri Lanka port gets new Evergreen service

Evergreen Line has said it has introduced a new feeder service with Singapore-based Sea Consortium linking Sri Lanka's Colombo port with ports in India and Pakistan.

A statement from the shipping line, operated by Taiwan's Evergreen Marine Corporation, said the Arabian Express Service (ASX) offers a weekly rotation.

The ships on the ASX will call at Colombo, Kandla, Mundra, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, and sail back to Colombo.

"The joint service will help further enhance Evergreen's extensive feeder network in Europe and the Mediterranean as well as expand trade to and from India and Pakistan," Evergreen's statement said.

Evergreen is a regularly scheduled global marine and inter-modal shipping carrier, transporting containerized cargo.

As an ocean carrier, Evergreen operates independently in all trades maintaining independence from conferences, groups of shipping lines.
